The Philadelphia Phillies are a professional baseball team based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in the United States. The Phillies are a member of the Eastern Division of Major League Baseball's National League. From 2004 to the present, the Phillies have played their home games at Citizens Bank Park in South Philadelphia. The "Phillies" name originates as a shortened version of "the Philadelphias", as the convention at the time was to call the team by their home city. They are nicknamed "the Phightin' Phils", or simply "the Phightin's" or "The Phils". It is a convention in Phillies culture to substitute "F" with "Ph" in various terms or names, such as "the Phold".
